Inform cops on crime and shady deals, schools told

BUKIT AMAN police have urged schools to share with them information about criminal activities among students.

Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said if needed, the police would send officers to monitor the situation at schools on a weekly basis.

“Schools must not be afraid to share information with the police if there are students involved in gangsterism, drugs or other criminal activities by reporting to police officers on duty,” he said.

The teachers can send the information to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) through its Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) application by recording videos and images of criminal activities by the students.

“The parents and the community must play a role in shaping the students morals and discipline as it is not the sole responsibility of the schools.

“They (students) are only in school for between seven and nine hours, while the rest of the time is under the care of their parents or guardians,” he added. – Bernama
